We believe that a well balanced vine can deliver high yields of quality fruit, in contradiction of some old world winemakers’ protests.  There is no need to stress the vine, any more than it is beneficial to pile on large quantities of nutrients or chemicals.

The same goes for defence against botrytis and powdery mildew.  Careful vine management is important, but the application of Wormtech Canopy at appropriate times shows promise as an effective defence against these common fungal problems (see trial results).  Being a natural product, there is no withholding period for late season applications.  Of course, when you spray Wormtech Canopy for fungal defence, the other vine and soil health benefits of Wormtech Canopy will apply as well – its that ‘win win solution’ again!

New vines are showing good results in Marlborough from the Wormtech Kickstart programme.  Application programmes for producing vines include Wormtech Earlyplan (a full season soil and canopy programme), Wormtech Regular (a basic vine health canopy programme) and Wormtech Defence (a specific botrytis and powdery mildew programme).
